Special purpose of brush strips in escalators

China clearly defined "add appropriate anti-trap device" in GB16899-1997 Escalators and Moving Walkways Manufacture and Installation Safety Regulations, in order to ensure the safety of passengers. Hong Kong Standard 1.1.5.5 provides: "Set anti-clamping device between both ends of the escalator and around the Apron board can reduce the risk of accidents..." and it stipulated the basic size of anti-trap device and position on aprons board. The best installation location for the brush anti-pinch device is about 5mm from the comb plate at the escalator Ladder Road exit and entrance, installed on both sides of the apron panel, to cover the gap between running cascade and aprons board, the installation height should be about 50mm at the top of the escalator at the escalator inlet and outlet cascade.

Escalator brush: bristle protruding length is general 50mm-52mm, the thickness of the brush strips is appropriate for 5mm × 5mm, 6mm x 6mm or 7mm × 7mm; the brush wire material is better to use soft black nylon wire (there is anti-retardant treated nylon wire brush for special requirements), not damage the clothing, but also has a certain degree of flexibility, and the brush should be able to recover after being touched with passenger's shoes. The brush anti-clamping device is composed by the base and the brush two parts; the base must have good cell structure, which does not allow danger possible, and can easily be removed. Its surface should be smooth and have no sharp edges, which is firmly and will not break. The escalators equipped with brush device enables the accident to hurt person by the gap sandwiched on both sides of the escalators almost zero. It can clearly be seen that the role the escalator brush plays is obvious.


But, strip brush on the skirt of escalator will reduce more than 90% accidents!
